04 SPORTS ⟋ 01 GEOMETRY: PRONE, EYES FORWARD, BODY AS AIRFRAME
The core of everything we are. Prone on a board built for whitewater, fins driving, face inches from the current: whitewater at face level, where even a mellow rapid grows teeth. Class V+ creeks, 15-metre waterfalls, world championships. This is where FLI was born.
Where face-level riding began. Drop-knee, prone, inverted. The original horizontal school of wave riding. Heavy slabs and shorebreak pits, ridden closer to the water than any stand-up ever gets. The ocean taught us the position; we took it everywhere else.
Winter, face first. Born in the Swiss Alps: an inflatable board for the mountain, chest down, chin over the nose, carving powder at eye level with the fall line. The most fun you can have on snow, and the purest crossover of the face-level family.
The logical conclusion. When the river ends and the mountain drops away, the body itself becomes the board, headfirst and horizontal through open sky, gravity as the current. Only at face level do you feel what it must be like to be Superman; wingsuit pilots feel it literally.
